VESPA VBB (BM-251)

The Vespa VBB was the scooter that powered Piaggio’s scooter lineup in the early 60’s, and for that matter, Italy.

This is an early version and is, in our minds, the pure design: it has the round tail, that was later made flat for holding a license plate; there are no aluminum trims on the cowls, as there would be on later versions. It is a wonderful example of good design. These scooters are so well built and so reliable, it will outlast us all.

Piaggio made this model for quite a long time, and it went through some minor changes over the years. This scooter was refurbished in Italy before we acquired it.
