1954 IsoScooter (D224)

On offer is a 1954 ISO Scooter 125. This innovative model with full coverage bodywork was produced until 1955. Superb example of one of the rarest and most collectable Italian motos from the mid 1950’s when scooters ruled urban Italy. Full restoration with FIM certification plate. Excellent overall condition, very original in all regards. A significant addition to any historical scooter collection ISO Rivolta is a legendary Italian moto manufacturer with a fascinating history that includes the Isetta bubble micro car and the exotic V8 powered Iso Rivolta GT models of the 1960’s. Starting in the late 1940’s ISO began production of motorcycles and motor scooters. In 1948, ISO introduced the scooter Furetto of 65cc, but it was not a great success. In 1950 this was succeeded by the dual-piston 125cc ISO Scooter with7.5 hp from the “twingle” engine. This model was a great improvement in terms of construction, with a telescopic fork at the front and a swing arm rear riding on large diameter wheels with fat tires. Many distinctive details and design features. Extra wide legshields and deeply valanced fenders for weather protection. The ride characteristics and handling were excellent and in many ways the ISO Scooter was a more advanced design than competitive models from Vespa and other manufacturers.
