1975 KTM 360cc (D216)

A legendary animal from one of the most exciting periods in European motocross in very original condition.

KTM began to establish it’s performance reputation with a series of very competitive motocross racer in the 1970’s. KTM won their very first FIM Motocross GP championship in 1974 with Russian motocross racer Guennady Moisseev winning the 250cc class on a KTM 250.
The 1975 KTM 360 was the next step up in power and performance.

This example comes from Italy, where KTM was a popular brand with motocross enthusiasts.  It is simply an awesome dirt bike with intense power and torque, barely controlled by the period chassis.  Mechanically in good overall condition, well maintained over the years.  Complete and unrestored, a few items require some TLC. KTM design was very advanced for the period with a simple, lightweight frame, braced swingarm, alloy rims and fat knobbies.  A comfortable seat, upright seating position and braced wide bars provide a modicum of control, but this bike is a handful of fun.

Bike is fitted with small headlamp and taillight.

Very rare in the USA, this is a true classic from an era when more, faster and wilder were the order of the day.
