1974 VESPA RALLY 200 (C4)

The Vespa Rally 180 replaced the Super Sport as the top of the line sporting model in the late 1960’s and is regarded as one of the best ever Vespa models offering classic style and modern performance. The Rally was updated in 1974 to 200cc and 12.5 horsepower. This one is a very good example still featuring original paint in one of the most popular colors and original stainless steel legshield trim. Overall finish shows some patina and quite a few nicks and scratches, but still shows very well with bright luster. Never down, this bike is in great shape for being almost 50 years old. Owned and maintained by a Vespa enthusiast this bike is mechanically sound, starts, runs and rides well, showing a good turn of speed, trusty brakes and agile handling.

The odometer reads 2,552 miles but TMU. The motor has been fitted with a Pinasco 12 volt electronic ignition for reliable performance. This is a US model featuring oil injection and a cool one-year only under the seat ignition switch. The poorly designed US version turn signals have been removed and both side cowls show the mounting holes where these had been attached. The dual saddle is plushly padded and very comfortable. The headlamp features a sealed beam bulb and the taillight is the “tractor” style.

A very original Rally 200 that shows well, in good overall condition, complete and unmolested. Neat features include an onboard spare tire, electronic ignition for reliable starts and a useful glovebox mounted to the legshield. All trim, switches, badges and details correct and in decent shape. Perfect for the daily driver and the vintage Vespa enthusiast. Comes with California title and registration.
