1967 LAMBRETTA 150 Special (L83)

Exceptional example of one of Lambretta’s most popular models. This 150 Special has been recently restored to beautiful condition, showing very well and ready to ride and enjoy. Gloss white paint finish is in very fine shape and the scoot features the cool “jet age” chrome flashes on the inset side cowls. Overall very clean exterior and sound mechanicals. Fitted with a sharp custom Angiollatti sport saddle and a central spare tire mount with attractive hub caps to dress up the spare. FMI certification plaque fitted to front fender guard. Odometer shows 32K miles.

The 150 Special was introduced in 1963 as a sportier alternative to the standard Li 150. The compression ratio was increased from 7:1 to 7.5:1 giving the special 8.25 bhp (6 kW) over the standard 150's 6.6 bhp (5 kW). The biggest advantage for the 150 Special was its unique gear set. It had a close-ratio gearbox that allowed it to make the most of the motor’s power. The 150 Special also had some of the “luxury” features of the TV, such as a key ignition switch, and the sporty bodywork.

On the road, the 150 Special is fast enough to be fine to use in normal modern traffic. It has good acceleration and reasonable top speed. The gearing is excellent, and the scooter accelerates well in second and third gear. This model offers a good balance of excellent styling, a bit of performance, reliability and value.
