1964 LAMBRETTA 150 Golden Special (L91)
Original Golden Special model from1964. Stunning restoration done a few years ago by a noted collector from Modena. He recently retired and we were able to secure 4 sensational Lambrettas from his collection. This Lambretta features a total restoration with all the Golden Special details including a like new saddle and chrome luggage rack. Very clean and tidy mechanicals. Ridden only 1300 km since the restoration! Comes with original Italian plates and registration document.
The 150 Special was introduced in 1963 as a sportier alternative to the standard Li 150. The compression ratio was increased from 7:1 to 7.5:1 giving the special 8.25 bhp (6 kW) over the standard 150's 6.6 bhp (5 kW). The biggest advantage for the 150 Special was its unique gear set. It had a close-ratio gearbox that allowed it to make the most of the motor’s power. The 150 Special also had some of the “luxury” features of the TV, such as a key ignition switch, and the sporty bodywork.
On the road, the 150 Golden Special is fast enough to be fine to use in normal modern traffic. It has good acceleration and reasonable top speed. The gearing is excellent, and the scooter accelerates well in second and third gear. This model offers a good balance of excellent styling, a bit of performance, reliability and collectability.
