1963 LAMBRETTA Li 150 Special (L92)
Original Li 150 Special model from1963. Proper and faithful restoration done a few years ago by a noted collector from Modena. He recently retired and we were able to secure 4 sensational Lambrettas from his collection. This Lambretta features a total restoration with all the Li 150 Special details. Many cool accessories are fitted including a chrome luggage rack, front fender guard and a spare tire with cover mounted on the leg shield. Mechanicals rebuilt and refreshed as needed. Ridden only 15 km since the restoration! Comes with original Italian plates and registration document.
The 150 Special was introduced in 1963 as a sportier alternative to the standard Li 150. The compression ratio was increased from 7:1 to 7.5:1 giving the special 8.25 bhp (6 kW) over the standard 150's 6.6 bhp (5 kW). The biggest advantage for the 150 Special was its unique gear set. It had a close-ratio gearbox that allowed it to make the most of the motor’s power. The 150 Special also had some of the “luxury” features of the TV, such as a key ignition switch, and the sporty bodywork.
On the road, the 150 Li Special is fast enough to be fine to use in normal modern traffic. It has good acceleration and reasonable top speed. The gearing is excellent, and the scooter accelerates well in second and third gear. This model offers a good balance of excellent styling, a bit of performance, reliability and collectability.
